The Newgrange Team

At Newgrange we have 44 members of contracted staff in our home and no agency staff. We are pleased to share that some of our staff have been with us for over 30 years.

We have a high ratio of experienced Carer’s to Residents, as well as activity staff supporting our residents each day.

We have staff who are Italian, Romanian, Hungarian and Spanish, which creates a multi-cultural home and can provide extra support for residents from those countries.

Alison Wood

Registered Manager of Newgrange Care Home

Alison helped set up Old Grange up in 1984 and assisted in the establishment of Newgrange in 2002. Alison is passionate about creating the best possible environment for older people and enabling them to live their lives as normally as possible.

As registered manager she has overall responsibility for the running of the home and manages the care team to make sure they give their best at all times.

Lynda Beckett

Deputy Manager of Newgrange Care Home

Lynda has worked at Newgrange and its predecessor for 20 years. Lynda is the key Duty Manager in respect of care and ensures a full and active agenda. She praises and encourages the homely atmosphere and the closeness of staff and residents which creates a really happy relaxed environment.

Maria

Floor Manager

Maria has been with Newgrange since 2002. Even during quiet times in the day, she will be found painting residents nails, giving hand massages, singing to the residents or simply sitting quietly with a resident, holding their hand and talking gently with them. As a manager she is a role model for demonstrating our 5 key values at Newgrange, especially when it comes to Compassion. She deals with residents and the team with equal amounts of kindness and respect.

Angela

Deputy Care Manager

Angela is a native Italian speaker, so is able to communicate clearly with some of our Italian residents. She has been an integral part of our team for the past 5 years. Angela is an outstanding carer and leader, always putting the interests of the resident first.

Sue

Kitchen Assistant

She was Team Leader, she is now Kitchen Assistant

Sue is fully committed to striving for a home, where the residents live a fulfilling and purposeful life. We have been blessed to have Sue in our home since 2012. She is able to support in the kitchen as well as an outstanding Carer. Sue is a wonderful role model to all of the team of how to consistently promote dignity and respect and shows compassion to our resident’s and their families.

Bouchra

Care Manager

Bouchra has 22 years experience in Care. She speaks Arabic and French. She is an excellent role model for all of the team, to show what person centered care looks like.

Dawn

Team Leader

Dawn has been in the care industry for seven years and enhances the resident’s lives by her nurturing and calm nature. The residents and staff all appreciate having Dawn's presence in the home.

Administration Manager

Charlie keeps the home well organised, with her gentle and warm nature, she helps everyone feel calm and well cared for.

Sheila

Night Care Assistant

Sheila has been at Newgrange since 2019, she is one of our Night Care Assistants. She has a warm, bubbly personality which the residents connect well with.

Lucy

Housekeeper

Lucy has been working in our home since 1998. She ensures the home is spotless and welcoming. Whether it's a bedroom, a bathroom or the living areas, everywhere is fresh and ready.

Records & Communication Manager

Andreea ensures staff understand residents' care needs and so deliver excellent care. She also ensures that all residents have accurate care plans and documentation.

Stacie

Head Chef

Stacey believes fresh, home cooked food is the best and that good nutrition is crucial for care residents. Mealtimes are one of the highlights of the day.

Healthcare Assistant

Laura has a lovely sunny personality, she is always singing, giggling and chatting with our residents.

Michael

Cleaner

Michael is our cleaner who has been with us since 2015. He speaks Italian as well as English, so loves chatting to our residents that are from Italy.

Deputy Chef

Ronnie has a wonderful creative flair, she loves making stunning birthday cakes to help all of our residents and staff feel special.

Activities

Carly loves to get creative with the residents. It is lovely to see the sparkle she brings into the home with all of her creative sessions with the residents.

Maria is Portugese and speaks Italian as well. She is softly spoken and always quick to smile, which makes her an outstanding carer, who the residents adore.
