Meet the Team

Alison Wood is the Registered Manager and founder of Newgrange. She set Old Grange up in 1984 and led the building and establishment of Newgrange in 2002. Alison is passionate about creating the best possible environment for older people and enabling them to live their lives as normally as possible. As registered manager she has overall responsibility for the running of the home and manages the care team to make sure they give their best at all times.

Sheelagh Coomes is one of two Duty Managers who have day to day operational responsibility for the home. Sheelagh has been with Newgrange and its predecessor for 21 years. She loves the work and is very determined to meet all the residents' needs. She particularly likes the open visiting times and the always open welcome to families and friends. Sheelagh has a lead responsibility for staff training and notes that all of the staff have been with the home for a very long time.

Lynda Beckett is the other Duty Manager and has worked at Newgrange and its predecessor for fifteen years. Lynda leads on activities for the residents and ensures a full and active agenda. She praises and encourages the really homely atmosphere and the closeness of staff and residents which creates a really happy relaxed environment.

Anita Clark is head cook and has been with Newgrange for 8 years. Anita is determined only to use fresh locally supplied ingredients and to prepare home cooked food every day. She likes working with the many different people within the home and thrives on the challenge of meeting the different requirements of all the residents.

Nick Meyer (left) and David Henson are the directors and owners of Newgrange. After many high profile roles and between them 60 years in service oriented roles they bought Newgrange a year ago. Nick and David have a real passion for achieving excellence in everything they do and are totally focused on creating a state of the art care environment.
